DESCRIPTION: Congrats! You’re graduating ! Now what? That’s the scary, stressful, and uncomfortable question countless students struggle to answer. Finding a job means taking a step outside of your comfort zone and walking into the unknown. It means identifying what you want and navigating the possible rejection, fear, and disappointment found along the way. Landing the “right” job takes life skills that many students need help developing. This is where New York Times bestselling author Harlan Cohen steps in.
Harlan helps students remove the fear while going from college to their careers. During this interactive workshop, Harlan delivers a step-by-step approach that helps students prepare, plan, and navigate life beyond college. He shares strategies to help students manage their fear of rejection and realign their thinking to focus on less on being wanted and more on what they want. Harlan provides exercises and activities to define goals, navigate challenges, and align with the right people in the right places. Harlan uses stories from his own professional journey and real life examples from recent grads on the campus he’s visiting to help students approach graduation and job search with a new sense of confidence and clarity.
This event is customized to incorporate and integrate your Career Center’s resources, services, and alumni networks. Sponsors can also participate in an accountability piece that includes a follow-up component for students to check back in with career advisors following the event.
